Biggest Loser: Week 7

I can't believe it is week 7 already.
Where did February go?
 I haven't even updated since week 3.
Sorry guys life hit me with moving in with friends then finally getting in to our apartment. Oh and school has taken up a lot of my time. If you have been reading my blogs you know that I finally got my husband to agree to go on a diet with me. I also have recruited my sister in law. She is only 15 but has been struggling her weight since she was little but hasn't really had the support to lose it. Not just that she doesn't really know the proper way to work out in the gym. So I am here to help her and me of course. I have always known how to lose weight just haven't had the motivation to do so. I tried to explain to her there is no magic pill or secret diet out there like people are trying to tell her. I told her it is simple calories in calories out. Well simple to say and understand but a struggle to do and I fully understand. I also know how hard it is to lose weight while every one in the house is drinking soda, eating chip, and cookies daily in front of you. I told her I will be her support and motivation to do it. I also told her there will be no excuses. She was like well what if I don't have a ride to your house to work out. My answer I WILL COME PICK YOU UP.

Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30 am to workout before my husband went to work. I did pretty good for my first work out since November and I got to use my heart rate monitor for the first time.

I felt good during the workout on the elliptical but then I went on the dread mill and was running/walking for a mile everything was fine until the end when I was running the last little bit my hip started to hurt. When I stopped everything was ok. I stretched went home took a shower and sat down to do my homework but when I got up to walk I was in so much pain I didn't want to walk. I took some ibuprofen and took a nap but when I woke up the medicine didn't do a thing. I was in bed all day.

Back in November I started to do insanity and every once in awhile my hip would hurt but I thought it was just sore from the work out but after I stopped working out I was still getting the pain every once in a while. If I sat wrong or too long it would get stiff and start hurting but never as bad as Sunday. Monday wasn't as bad but I didn't want to walk around too much but after I started picking up the house it loosened up and didn't feel too bad. I looked up hip pain and the 2 things that I think it could be say its not serious and it eventually will go away on its own but may take weeks or months but I haven't done any workout since November and my concern is its already been months.

I convinced my sister in law to go to the gym with me and I decided to only do the bike for 30 min then do some arm work outs.

After my work out I wasn't hurting like I did the day before and this morning it wasn't too bad but I still feel like the annoying soreness in my hip. I want to go see a doctor but I want to see a sports doctor and the nearest one in my small down is an hour and a half away.

I had a NSV today. I went to the grocery store starving (should never do that) but I got everything healthy and when I got home I made a turkey burger for lunch and everything was only 280 calories. Another workout tonight. Lets see how this one goes.

  1. Girl, my hip has been hurting too. It actually radiates around to my L-low back, or maybe it's radiating from my L-low back to my hip. Either way it hurts & I have to admit I'm afraid to go to the dr, I'm such a wuss!! I'm loving your bracelet, I seriously want one of those!!

    1. The problem I have with going to the doctor is he is going to say stop working out and let it rest but I already did that. You should get the bracelet it is awesome.

  3. Today is a new day. Focus on your goals, and you can do it! I have all kinds of aches and pains. I don't want to go to the doctor because I know he'll just say "well, you're not as young as you used to be....," and I really don't want to have to punch him. I like him. LOL! Plus, along with the age comment, he'll probably say something about me being overweight. Well, no kidding! That's why I'm trying to lose, but the dang ache and pains don't help.

So, see? You're not alone, girl! Do what you can, and just keep plugging away, and you will see results.

    1. It's funny you mentioned the doctor will talk about losing weight. I have a feeling the doctor is going to say rest the hip but I already did that and when I read about what it could be most say one of the causes is being over weight. It's like a lose lose situation but I am just trying to do workouts that don't irritate it. Keep me update with your progress.
